A Trace of Classical Paris
This is from a street in the middle of Paris, very near the Louvre. If you happen to notice a building like this, be sure to stop and really take a good look. Reading the sign above, you can see that this used to be a grocery store that sold things like butter, eggs, cheese, chicken, and wild game. Time has passed and it has since been turned into a bistro, but the remaining façade brings up recollections of what it once was. Many designer boutiques (especially in the Malais district) will leave up the exteriors of the old bakeries and butcher shops they used to be, making you stop and feel that, ah, this is the true Paris.
