Despite this, you don’t like the idea of a diet. For one thing you are aware that YOU submit yourself, of your own free will, to the stereotype decreed by terse anti-flab marketing, and secondly it projects a superficial image of women (as conveyed by the same terse anti-flab marketing) who, even if they vote, write, act, direct, read, criticise, raise, and so on and so forth, cannot avoid considering with anguish their weight (it’s no time to speak to speak of buying new clothes).
What if we thought, just for a moment, about OUR pleasure ? (Gentlemen, I am addressing myself to women here !) What if we trusted our INSTINCT ? Yes our instinct, please stay with me… If that were the case, we would know what is good, when it is good, and in what quantity it is good (this is valid not only for food, it seems to me… Gentlement, I said to women !)…
My instinct took me there. I had a great time. Girl’s secret.
The Square is a restaurant which knows what pleasure is all about… The pleasure of subtility, of having taken time, of having sufficient experience to listen, suggest without imposing, but also to be there, really there… Not a snob pleasure consisting of looking at the plate trying to convince yourself that, in spite of the quantity, you can be satisfied by the look, the appearance… At “the Square”, you eat well. In every sense of the word. And also you drink… delightfully.
Ladies, I could try to convince you by speaking of the ”Aubergine, pepper and goat cheese Gourmandise” or the “Gaspacho with basil sorbet”, the “Ravioli tartare”, all accompanied by wines brilliantly selected by Julien the wine waiter… or describe to you the simple yet refined setting, the terrace where you can eat and smoke until the late hours, summer and winter… say to you that the staff are so kind you wouldn’t think you were in Paris… But I won’t… I simply suggest you reserve a date… Invite him telling him to wait for you under the arbour in the romantic Carpeaux Square, open until 9.30 pm in summer…. Then, lead him to the Square’s terrace, ask for … Ze Bulle… A light aperitif… Julien will explain to you what it is… You may not understand half of what he says to you but you will have experienced a moment of poetry… Then, invite your guest to play the game “you choose for me” and go so far as to place the order secretly, to be totally surprised by what the other person has chosen for you… Trust the wine waiter for the choice of wine, but ask to taste as a matter of urgency the “Tulsi”, a modest Sauvignon perfumed with basil… You will delight him with your ease and peculiarity… Trust me, at the end of the meal, your creativity will be multiplied for the rest of the evening… Girl’s secret…
Have a nice evening, girls.
"Be simple and happy"
