7 hours waiting at the Elysée Palace!

On the day of 'the European Heritage Days', I decided to visit the Elysée Palace, the official residence of the President of France. I woke up early, arrived there at 8:30, 30 minutes earlier than the opening hours, and I was so sure that there would not be so many people...BUT! already, there was a loooong line at the entrance. Anyways, I decided to wait, thinking it would be maximum 2 and half hours to wait. You know, I thought it would be like at Disneyland on weekend...but some hours later, I realised that I was wrong! Finally I waited about 7 hours to get into the Palace and my visit time was only 40 minutes! Can you believe that?
The Elysée Palace was beautiful and gorgeous...but I was so exhausted that I cannot remember how it was actually. If you visit the Elysée Palace next year, I recommend you to prepare sandwich, drinks and a small folding camping chair, too! (2007-09-27)
