The history began in 1764 when a glassworks was founded in the small village of Baccarat in Lorraine. After more than 240 years, Baccarat has become a world famous and prestigious crystal maker. The Baccarat’s boutique on the Place des Etats-Unis in 16th district of Paris, houses a shop, a museum and a restaurant in a space of 32,300 square feet. We visited this boutique, the symbol of the ambition of this historical brand, which continues to innovate in traditional crystalworks.(2007-04-11)

The building used to be the residence of the viscountess, Marie-Laure de Noailles, who often invited painters, writers and musicians in the middle of 20th century. It’s not an accident that Baccarat chose this place, where the art was always Important. The world famous architect and designer, Philippe Starck decorated this fantastic space using the mysterious character of crystal, transparent and colorful at the same time.

The Boutique Maison offers all kinds of Baccarat’s tableware. We admired the beauty of the glasses and wished someday we could have them at home.
?
At the Boutique Creator, we found the limited collections created by different designers chosen by Baccarat every 2 years. This is one of the reasons Baccarat doesn’t become a relic of the past.

Baccarat started the first crystal jewelry collection in 1993. The transparence of crystal provides alighted luxury.

We recommend visiting the Gallery-Museum on the first floor. The brand's prestigious collections are displayed thematically, not in chronological order.
?
Don’t forget the viscountess’ ballroom and its magnificent crystal chandeliers, where a video is projected to show Baccarat’s craftsmen’s work.

Baccarat offers a free ticket for Gallery-Museum to those who purchase more than one article at any shop of Baccarat in Paris. Please click here to print out the voucher.

‘Crystal Room’ is an elegant restaurant designed by Philippe Starck. All the tableware used here is, of course, Baccarat’s. Have a dreamy time!
